Beaches and Bicycles: A Summer Counting Book (Hardback)

A counting book that describes summer related activities and events. Every item count is clear and well defined and the number is pictured prominently on every page. Every page of things to count is accompanied by a well written rhyme about the season. This is a perfect way to introduce seasons and counting to your preschooler. Kids always love real pictures and these are good concrete examples that will be very useful for teaching basic concepts. A number line goes down the side of each page. Each volume also includes a fact spread about the season, a section of words to know, and ideas to read more about it. These are an excellent choice for any preschool or kindergarten classroom, or any child's personal collection

About the Author:

Rebecca Fjelland Davis writes and rides her bike in Southern Minnesota. She spends time with her Newfoundland dog Freya, her husband, and as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren who live too far away. She teaches English and Humanities, grades a lot of papers, and forces students to try new books and new places (like South Africa, Italy, or an art museum). She is two-time winner of the women’s division of the National 24-Hour Challenge bike race in Michigan, rides her bike a few thousand miles a year, and tries to avoid being hit by cars (it happened once). Rebecca is available to visit schools, book clubs, libraries, and bookstores.
